Could Liverpool be next destination for unwanted Real Madrid star?

It’s already been a hectic summer in the transfer market, and with two weeks to go until the window slams shut – it’s Liverpool who are looking to bolster their defence, with Klopp weighing up a move for a Galactico.
And while Reds fans will be delighted with their 4-3 win at the Emirates on Sunday, there’s one area of the pitch that every top-flight team will be targeting throughout the course of this campaign unless manager Jurgen Klopp acts quickly.
The latest in a long list of left-backs to be linked with a move to Anfield this summer is Real Madrid man Fabio Coentrao, who spent last season on loan at Monaco.
The Portuguese man has represented Madrid on no less than 100 occasions since joining up with Los Blancos back in 2011.
But it’s in France where the 28-year-old found his best form, contributing with three goals and two assists in 15 games in a campaign which was cut short by injury.
Perhaps the only concern for Klopp would be that an injury will see the left-back out of action until early October, although most Liverpool fans would probably feel more confident fielding a half-fit Coentrao over a fully-fit Alberto Moreno.
The Spanish defender was the subject of much criticism last year, and he’s done nothing so far this season to prove his doubters wrong.
Receiving a yellow card as well as giving away a penalty and being at fault for Arsenal’s opening goal means Moreno arguably had the worst individual game of the opening weekend, and the cries around Anfield for a replacement are growing game by game.
Madrid have already shown their willingness to loan Coentrao out, meaning the Merseyside outfit wouldn’t need to add to the £68m total they’ve already spent this summer should they make a move for the former Champions League winner.
And should Klopp manage to strengthen his back four with the acquisition of Coentrao, you can expect to see the 10/11 on Liverpool making the top four fall even shorter.
