Conte to round off Chelsea’s business with Serie A double swoop

Chelsea have made a perfect start to life under Antonio Conte, winning all three Premier League games and progressing in the EFL Cup too.
Despite that serene opening, the Italian manager still wants to make additions to his squad. Time is running out to do so, but rumours suggest he could bring two new faces to Stamford Bridge at the last opportunity.
According to the Daily Mail, the former Juventus supremo will return to Serie A to find the recruits, with one of them a particularly dire need for his Blues squad.
Right-back Cesar Azpilicueta has continued his role plugging the gap on the opposite flank this season and with no other natural left-footed defender on the Chelsea books, Fiorentina’s Marcos Alonso appears a must-buy.
The 25-year-old already has experience playing in the Premier League, having had two seasons with Bolton from 2010/11 and joining Sunderland on loan from the Viola three campaigns ago.
Despite being an actual left-back, the former Real Madrid youth is likely to remain his countryman’s understudy should he arrive in west London. A £23m fee for such a commodity only further highlights how urgent Conte’s need in the position is.
The other Serie A star linked with the Blues is Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic, who scored four goals and laid on another quartet for teammates at the San Siro last season.
A Croatian midfielder vaunted enough to share the middle of the park with superstar-tandem Ivan Rakitic and Luka Modric at Euro 2016, the 23-year-old showed his attacking intent by averaging three shots per game in France.
Although not regularly linked with a switch to Chelsea, talk about Brozovic’s potential arrival has accelerated after Inter confirmed the signing of Portuguese star Joao Mario.
However, with Cesc Fabregas remaining steadfast in his belief that he’ll remain at the Bridge despite spending an unusual amount of time on the bench, minutes on the pitch don’t look likely to be any easier to obtain in London.
