West Ham eyeing up double swoop for Norwich City talents
West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has already picked up a pair of attacking talents from Valencia this season in the form of Toni Martinez and Sofiane Feghouli.
And the Irons boss could be about to poach another pair of key men from a club closer to home, with Norwich City’s Robbie Brady and Martin Olsson on his radar.
Versatile Brady was one of the few gems for a Canaries side who succumbed to Premier League relegation last season, and showed a classy and composed ball-playing ability whether used at left-back or out on the wing.
The 24-year-old also scored some crucial goals, including the only goal in March’s 1-0 away win at West Brom, but couldn’t save Alex Neil’s men from the drop.
Having also impressed for the Republic of Ireland at Euro 2016 this summer, there’s no question the former Man United man can perform on the big stage.
With that in mind, Transfermarkt.co.uk’s £5.1m valuation of the player suggests he could be snapped up at a bargain price – especially if the Hammers can wrangle a discount-double deal on the Irish international and Olsson.
The Swedish left-back would provide a reliable option defensively, on a flank where the Hammers would benefit from more strength-in-depth – especially with Aaron Cresswell’s return date from injury unknown.
Another player with a classy touch and good distribution, the Gavle native would certainly be a good fit for the slick and attractive passing football which the Hammers have produced under Bilic.
West Ham begin their first season at the Olympic Stadium with a visit to Chelsea, with 5/1 for the Irons to taste victory against Antonio Conte’s men.
After last season’s impressive displays, the Hammers are looking to continue their rise, with 11/4 saying they finish in the Premier League’s top six this time out, while it’s 8s that they make it into the top four.
