Punters fancying David Moyes to succeed Big Sam at Sunderland

With Sam Allardyce hotly tipped to become the next England manager, punters are backing David Moyes to follow in Big Sam’s shoes at the Stadium of Light.
It looks like punters are putting two and two together and have backed the former Manchester United boss Moyes into 11/10 favourite for the Wearside post, should a vacancy crop up.
Ex-Newcastle manager Allardyce is 4/11 favourite to succeed Roy Hodgson in charge of the Three Lions.
If Moyes doesn’t get the Black Cats job, Old Trafford legend Ryan Giggs is 5/1 to make Sunderland his first managerial role.
Current USA boss Jurgen Klinsmann is 10/1 – and also in the England frame at 7/1 – while former Everton manager Roberto Martinez is also 10/1 for a swift return to a Premier League dugout.
Former Newcastle coach Steve McClaren is at 16/1, but it remains to be seen whether the Sunderland board would take on another ex-Magpies manager.
Meanwhile, Wales’ Euro 2016 hero Chris Coleman is 20/1 to be persuaded by Sunderland.
A Ladbrokes spokersperson said: “Sunderland fans are quickly trying to work out the chain reaction if Big Sam leaves, and they clearly fancy Moyes to be next in the Sunderland hotseat.”
Whoever their manager may be, the Wearsiders will kick-off their campaign as part of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City debut.
