Meet the teenage Brentford prodigy heading to Man United

Manchester United may have spent the summer chasing some of world football’s most established stars, but the club’s youth coaches are now on the verge of snapping up a lesser known talent. His name? Joshua Bohui.

The 17-year-old winger was top scorer last season for Brentford’s academy side and earned a call-up to the England under-17 squad earlier this year.

It’s been a continued rise for a youngster with an excellent grounding in the game, having first cut his teeth at Brixton’s Afewee Academy – joining a list of illustrious graduates including England international Nathaniel Clyne.

History suggests Bohui is heading to a club which will provide him with regular first-team opportunities, with 14 different players handed their debuts at Man United in the past two seasons.

And he’s one of an influx of new young talents brought to Old Trafford by United’s academy coach, Nicky Butt.

American right-back Matthew Olosunde and 16-year-old Swiss youth international Nishan Burkart are also recent arrivals, while a deal for Feyenoord wonder-kid Tahith Chong looks imminent.

Many of United’s young stars of yesteryear have made their bow in the League Cup, a competition Jose Mourinho’s men are 7/1 to lift this season – and with so much new talent on their books, that could be a very tempting price.

But right now, United’s first-team will be focusing on tomorrow’s clash with Borussia Dortmund, with 7/5 for the Red Devils to taste victory against BVB.
