Leicester must fork out £20m if they want Gremio hotshot

Reigning Premier League champions Leicester City may be on the verge of signing Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow, but the Foxes are also reportedly linked with Gremio front man Luan Vieira.

However, the Foxes will have to spend around £20m on the 23-year-old, having already committed to around £15m on Musa.

Leicester have been linked with the striker for much of the summer, and Luan’s agent has confirmed initial talks have been held between player and club.

It’s believed a work permit could be arranged for Luan, who netted 17 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions last season.

Leicester have already been busy in the transfer market, signing Ron-Robert Zieler, Nampalys Mendy, Luis Hernandez and Raul Uche Rubio.

Having used just 23 players en route to their famous Premier League title last season, Claudio Ranieri is busy bulking up his options.

And with a first ever foray into Champions League football to contend with, the Foxes will need to ensure they have a squad depth capable of competing on domestic and European fronts.

That may well explain the continued pursuit of Luan, despite Musa’s arrival taking Leicester to four strikers alongside Jamie Vardy, Shinji Okazaki and Leonardo Ulloa.

Leicester are 25/1 to successfully defend their league crown, while the east  Midlands side are 13/10 to open their season with a win away at newly-promoted Hull City next month.
