Goodwood-Galway Lucky 15: Pure Art is our cross-festival lock

Published:

Racing fans are in for a real treat this week with five days of top class action on the level from Glorious Goodwood coupled with the the seven-day cross-code spectacular that is the Galway festival.

And what better way to celebrate than to offer up a bunch of cracking Lucky 15s?

Every day between Tuesday 26 July and Saturday 31 July we’ll be picking two runners apiece from Sussex and across the Irish Sea.

Here’s our initial awesome foursome…

Gifted Master, 15:10 Glorious Goodwood

Already tipped up in our Lennox Stakes preview, we thought why not stick him in here too?

Hugo Palmer’s second-string has it all to prove again but the previous Group 3 winner can get back in the groove and oblige at big odds.

If you’re swerving the Godolphin runners, this is your best bet.

Pure Art, 17:30 Glorious Goodwood

Ralph Beckett’s filly couldn’t overcome an 11lb swing in the weights to overcome Pirouette last time out but that proved to be no disgrace given the latter’s subsequent form.

Pure Art looks progressive and against these rivals she should continue her upward trajectory and go one better over a mile.

Creggs Pipes, 19:20 Galway

This hot handicap has a couple of Dermot Weld entries vying for favouritism but don’t be fooled into thinking they’re the only big talking points in this contest.

Chasing a four-timer and on the upgrade, back this recent Listed winner to keep at it and withstand any pressure.

*We’re offering 5 places on this race for Online, Mobile and Irish retail customers*

Beau Satchel, 19:50 Galway

Last year’s winner took this renewal off a 3lb higher mark and has plenty in his favour when it comes to building a case for defending this title.

Dermot Weld’s Malinka is the jolly but with only one joint-favourite winner in the last 12 years, and questions surrounding his ability over this trip, we’re sticking with what we know.
