Countdown Boosts: West Brom well priced for top ten finish

Published:

We’re one day closer to the start of the new Premier League campaign and to celebrate we’ve boosted a whole host of markets surrounding West Bromwich Albion.

The Baggies have established themselves as a comfortable top-flight team over the last few years, diminishing their ‘yo-yo’ status in the process, and manager Tony Pulis just has a way of getting the job done.

The Black Country outfit are about to embark upon their seventh successive campaign in the Premier League and our specials cover a range of ways in which Albion’s campaign might pan out.

So let’s get the offers underway…

8:00-12:00: West Brom to be relegated was 9/4, NOW 3/1

Not the most optimistic of starts, granted, given that West Brom have maintained their top-tier status for six seasons and their boss has never been relegated from the division. But while the statistics favour them, the reality is that the league is getting stronger, and Pulis’ lack of activity in the transfer market to date in comparison to Albion’s rivals is certainly worrying.

12:00-15:00: West Brom to be the lowest scoring team was 5/1, NOW 7/1

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Last season only local rivals Aston Villa managed to score less than the Baggies, but their defensive record is something to be proud of, with only the top six keeping more clean sheets.

Though West Brom’s lack of goals and solid defence might not promote the most attractive football in the league, it’s certainly effective.

15:00-18:00: West Brom to finish in the Top 10 was 8/1, NOW 10/1

We think our traders might have missed a trick with this one, as Albion have finished in the top ten in two of their last five seasons in the top-flight.

Last year Pulis led his side to 14th in the league and so a Top 10 finish is definitely an achievable objective this time around.

18:00-22:00: West Brom to get 50 or more Premier League points was 6/1, NOW 8/1

Though the Baggies have never achieved this points tally in the Premier League before, they were well on course to do so last season, needing just 10 points from their remaining seven games.

However, a poor end to the season meant they missed out, but should Darren Fletcher and co. achieve a top-half finish, you can expect them to pick up 50 points in the process.
