Super League: Catalans set to increase Warrington’s home woes

Warrington Wolves are enduring a real wobble on their home patch, having lost three of the last five at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, and that stat is set to worsen with the visit of Catalans Dragons to Cheshire.
The Wolves’ only home win since April came against basement-dwelling Leeds Rhinos, and their home defeats during the past month – to Castleford and Hull FC – saw Tony Smith’s men lose by a combined total of 27 points.
By contrast, Catalans go into this game in fine fettle. Laurent Frayssinous’ charges have won five of their last six in all competitions, though the seven victories from their last nine away trips is an even more convincing indicator of victory.
One man who has been in sensational form for the Dragons is winger Jodie Broughton, who scored two tries in the 33-16 demolition of St Helens in Perpignan last weekend.
Having also grabbed doubles against Wakefield, Salford, Hull KR – and a mammoth four tries against St Helens – since the start of April, he looks an excellent bet to grab two or more at Warrington (4/1).
Their last three victories have also been secured by between 11-20 points, meaning that tipping Catalans to win by that margin again could be an inspired bet at 12/1.
The French outfit are the men to back in the match betting at 11/4 for victory, while a Warrington win is priced at 2/7.
