Royal Ascot: Get ready for the sweet sound of Even Song

We’re already at the half-way stage of this year’s Royal Ascot meeting but don’t worry, there’s still plenty more top class action to come.

The Ascot Gold Cup is the feature race on Thursday, a 2m4f contest that provides the centrepiece for the entire five-day spectacular.

We’ve covered that in-depth in our King of Stats article while instead taking this opportunity to focus on some of the other highlights.

Our tIps are below but before we get down to business here’s a reminder of our top offer…

Money Back if 2nd or 3rd to the SP Favourite in Channel 4 races!*

Get involved and remember to keep an eye out for Best Odds Guaranteed PLUS as well.

Our standout offering meant that customers taking the 14/1 early price on Prince of Wales’s Stakes winner My Dream Boat weren’t just paid out at the 16/1 starting price. With BOG+ we boosted the odds to 18/1, another example of the cracking value available everyday!

NAP – Even Song – 15:40 Royal Ascot

Irish-trained fillies have dominated the Ribblesdale in recent years, taking four of the last five runnings, and Even Song looks set to add to that list.

Although behind in the Pretty Polly last time out, she did stay on well to nab third. With a clearer run, Ryan Moore’s mount can launch a much stronger challenge.

Aidan O’Brien considered this filly a real threat to stablemate Minding at one stage and this contest will offer the perfect opportunity to show those statements were well-founded.

NB – Garcia – 17:00 Royal Ascot

This Britannia renewal looks ultra competitive but Garcia has a great chance of beating off competition from some of the bigger names.

Richard Fahey’s entrant finished in front of market leader Chief Whip to land the Silver Bowl at Haydock last time out and he can continue his progression this week.

That win came at the three-year-old’s first attempt over a mile and given the fact it was on good-to-soft ground, conditions in Berkshire should be no problem either.

Lively Longshot – The Twisler – 16:20 Royal Ascot

OK, OK. You need to take a massive leap of faith with this selection but we’ve seen enough money coming in for Jane Chapple-Hyam’s charge to take him seriously.

The Twisler is priced up at around 100/1 for a reason but factor in his three-length victory over 33/1 shot Fun Mac at Goodwood last year and you can see there’s a bit of value to be had.

A few below-par performances since then have taken some of the sheen off that Listed win last summer but a repeat of those heroics could see a challenge for the places.
