POLL REACTION: Emile Heskey could still do a job for England

Published:

Tonight we’re getting into the spirit of things ahead of this summer’s European Championships in France with our #ForTheFans event in London.

A chosen number of lucky Ladbrokes customers will be meeting and greeting a host of former football greats, including Emile Heskey, Ian Rush, Iain Dowie and Jason McAteer.

Each has proven themselves a hero for their respective nations down the years, and so we thought it apt to ask our Twitter followers who could still do a job for their country?

You voted in your hundreds but it was former England striker Emile Heskey who came out top in today’s poll .

The former Leicester and Liverpool striker claimed 53 of the vote.

In second place came Wales legend Ian Rush with 30 per cent – not bad for a 54-year-old – followed by Ireland’s Jason McAteer with 11 per cent.

That left poor Northern Ireland’s Iain Dowie lacking some support with just six per cent.

The quartet of international heroes, plus Scotland legend Ally McCoist will all be giving their insight and opinions on this summer’s Euros in France.

If you’ve got a question for any of our guests at tonight’s event, just tweet us @Ladbrokes using the hashtag #ForTheFans.
