Middlesbrough keeping tabs on Euro 2016 goalscorer

As they prepare to play Premier League football for the first time in seven years, Middlesbrough are busy behind the scenes assembling a squad capable of avoiding an instant return to the Championship.
And one man who could really help them out of a jam is Czech Republic forward, Tomas Necid.
The Bursaspor man was linked with a move to the Riverside towards the end of last season, and the forward has been a focal point of his national team at this summer’s European Championships.
Indeed it was Necid who fired home the Czechs’ last-gasp penalty to salvage a 2-2 draw versus Croatia.
At 6ft 3in, Necid would offer Middlesbrough a sizable target man – a useful asset for any newly-promoted team.
With 16 goals in 33 appearances for his Turkish side last term, the 26-year-old is handy in front of goal too.
Before his travels to Turkey, he netted 14 goals in 33 games for Dutch outfit PEC Zwolle, suggesting he’s not a man fazed by a change of scenery.
The striker wouldn’t be brought to Middlesbrough under any false pretence either. Jordan Rhodes’ looks set to be Aitor Karanka’s main scoring threat following his January move from Blackburn, and Necid could prove a perfect foil for the Scottish striker.
With the Czech Republic now out of Euro 2016, Boro would be free to kick-start any negotiations.
Valued at a little over £3m by transfermarkt.co.uk, and with a contract running until 2019, the north east side may need to spend a little dollar, but in the fight to remain a Premier League outfit, Necid’s arrival could be a shrewd investment.
