Could this Slovakian ace be on his way to Everton?

| 22.06.2016

Everton conceded a whopping 55 goals in last season’s Premier League campaign, and the side’s defensive frailties could be the first issue tackled by new boss Ronald Koeman, with the Dutch gaffer believed to be eyeing up Slovakia defender Tomas Hubocan.

The versatile 30-year-old was a regular for club side Dinamo Moscow last season, and despite the team’s poor fortunes, he’s continued to impress for both the Russian outfit and the Slovakian national side.

Powerful, experienced and with a superb knack of reading the game, there’s every chance that Hubocan will continue to attract suitors, especially if Slovakia can push on beyond the second round at Euro 2016.

The former Zenit Saint Petersburg man has featured in the last two games for Slovenski sokoli, including their defensive masterclass in the 0-0 draw with England. But while he frustrated Three Lions fans, those on the blue half of Merseyside would be likely to change their mind – if the move does go ahead.

Having begun to add goals and assists to his game in the past few seasons, the Zilina native has established himself as a very complete player – and one who Koeman could snap up for an extremely appealing price.

Transfermarkt.co.uk rate the player’s current market value at £3.38m, with just a year left on his contract in the Russian capital.

And if the Toffees boss is planning to move for Hubocan, he would be best to do so quickly, with another impressive display for Slovakia likely to boost the player’s price tag.

The talented defender is likely to keep his place in the national side as we head into the knockouts, with Slovakia 150/1 to lift the trophy.
