Will Tottenham take a chance on Atletico Madrid striker?

With a Champions League campaign on the horizon, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could expand his attacking options this summer, and reports say the Argentine gaffer is keen to snap up Borja Baston from Atletico Madrid.

Borja has impressed on loan at La Liga’s surprise package, Eibar, this season. Having netted 17 goals in 34 games, including a strike at the Nou Camp, the Madrid native is believed to be on the radar of a number of Premier League sides.

Tottenham lead the English interest at 4/1 to secure the 23-year-old’s signature, with Ronald Koeman 6/1 to lure the prolific hitman to Southampton.

Everton are 8/1, while the smart money could be on a move to Arsenal (12/1), with the Gunners likely to offload Olivier Giroud this summer, and Arsene Wenger unlikely to go a second successive summer without bringing in an outfield player.

Manchester United are also 12s to recruit Borja, with the unusually goal-shy Red Devils in need of an attacking revamp ahead of next season.

Valencia, meanwhile, remain narrow favourites to sign the former Spain U19 international, with a move to Gary Neville’s former employers priced at 3/1.

Currently valued by Transfermarkt at just £3m, a host of Premier League clubs are likely to consider swooping for the imposing forward before his price-tag rises.

Tottenham are next in action when they host Southampton on Sunday, with the Lilywhites looking to secure second place ahead of north London rivals Arsenal.

It’s 17/10 that Spurs win, with Southampton 14/5, and a share of the spoils priced at 13/5.
