WATCH: Clinical Ross County put four past Aberdeen at Pittodrie

Published:

No away side had scored more than two goals at Pittodrie in 2016 before last weekend, but Jim McIntyre’s Ross County ended that statistic in spectacular style, winning 4-0 on Aberdeen’s patch to end a fantastic season on a fitting note.

The Staggies picked up their first ever major honour with March’s Scottish League Cup triumph, and the top-six side have shown no signs of losing momentum.

And here’s what happened when the Higland club hit top gear on their visit to Aberdeen.

Liam Woods made it three, before Martin Woods scored his first Ladbrokes Premiership goal of this campaign with a sensational long-range effort.

Aberdeen finish in second place with County in sixth. But, while the Dons’ title challenge may have eventually fizzled out, after an impressive campaign, Derek McInnes’ men are 12/1 to win next season’s Ladbrokes Premiership.

County are a rather longer shot at 200/1, though if they can replicate displays like this next season, the Highland club could well jangle the nerves of Aberdeen and the Old Firm.
