Man United snatch Polish wonderkid from under Rangers’ nose

Manchester United may have unearthed a long-term replacement for David de Gea after snatching a Polish wonderkid from under the nose of Rangers.

Wisla Krakow youngster Kacper Chorazka had spent time on trial at Rangers but is set to shun the Glasgow club and sign for the Red Devils instead after being invited to strut his stuff at United’s Carrington-based Aon Training Complex.

Artur Chorazka, the 17-year-old’s father, explained that a host of top clubs are queuing up to sign his son but hinted that United are simply too big a club to walk away from.

“Kacper went to Rangers on trial and I know their goalkeeping coach Jim Stewart liked him. Spurs, Liverpool and clubs in Italy and Germany were interested too,” he explained.

“But when you get an offer from a club like Manchester United, you cannot say no. If the clubs reach an agreement then great, but the priority is to develop him as a keeper.”

De Gea has been in sensational form for United this season and set a club record after being named United’s player of the season for the third campaign in a row earlier this month.

However, with United on course to miss out on a Champions League berth the Spaniard is likely to be a transfer target for a host of Europe’s top clubs.

The 25-year-old almost signed for Real Madrid last year and despite recently penning a new deal at Old Trafford would find the lure of his hometown hard to ignore should United fail to finish in the top four.

United’s next chance to make up ground on the current top four comes at Carrow Road in the early kick-off this Saturday.

The Red Devils go into the game as 5/6 favourites, with the draw on at 13/5 and the Canaries priced up at 16/5 to take all three points.
