Ladbrokes Premiership: Kilmarnock dominate but Falkirk secure victory

Falkirk went into the first leg of the Ladbrokes Premiership Play-offs final as favourites for a home win, but while they justified that tag, Kilmarnock can feel unfortunate to be behind as they head into the second leg.
Kris Boyd had two efforts cleared off the line for Killie, while former Bury midfielder Tope Obedayi spurned a glorious chance just after the break, to leave the scores level.
Not that it was all one-way traffic. John Baird missed a golden opportunity from six-yards-out for the hosts, but the East Ayrshire outfit looked the more likely to score, before the hosts’ 91st-minute winner.
It came when Craig Sibbald set up Will Vaulks, who struck sweetly home from range to secure a 1-0 victory for Peter Houston’s men.
One of Falkirk’s most important qualities this season has been their aptitude for late goals. In fact, they’ve scored goals beyond the 85-minute mark in five of their last seven games, with 11 strikes in that time window this season. A hugely impressive record.
And the Bairns look good to secure Premiership status next season after a six-year absence, with Killie’s home form making for rather grim reading.
Lee Clark’s charges have lost six of the last eight on their own patch, including a humiliating 4-2 loss to already-relegated Dundee United last time out.
By contrast, Falkirk are unbeaten on their travels since the end of January. They’re draw specialists away from home – with their last six trips having ended in stalemates.
Expect these two to produce an exciting draw next time out at odds of 12/5 although if you think we’ll have a winner on the night then Falkirk are available at 2/1 with Killie 23/20 for victory.
