In-form Falkirk have the quality to comfortably beat Kilmarnock
Falkirk’s 5-4 aggregate victory over Hibernian in the Ladbrokes Premiership play-off semi-final showcased the Bairns’ attacking threat and their in-form strike force should prove too hot for Kilmarnock to handle.
Peter Houston’s men have won six of the last seven at Falkirk Stadium, including a 3-2 defeat of Rangers.
The Forth Valley club have also scored multiple times in six of their last seven games anywhere, a stat which is likely to worry Killie, with the current Ladbrokes Premiership club having already conceded four or more goals in six games during this campaign.
There are more reasons to back the Bairns, whose striker Robert McHugh is in sensational form, with the 24-year-old scoring five times in his last six games.
Even more interesting is the fact McHugh has netted the final goal in four of his last five outings, meaning there could be plenty of value in backing him to be the last goalscorer tonight at 6/1.
Some may have looked at backing Killie on the basis of the Ayrshire outfit having never lost at Falkirk Stadium. However, with these clubs having not met since 2010, that record is of little relevance here, and the Bairns look set to leave it in tatters tonight.
Victory for Falkirk (5/4) looks to be the best bet for win-draw-win here, with 37/20 for a Killie victory and 12/5 for honours even.
With two 3-2 victories since April began, a flutter on the hosts to repeat that scoreline could also tempt a few at 28/1.
And those backing the Bairns to win a high-scoring affair can enjoy Ladbrokes’ fantastic price boost, Falkirk to win and 3 or more goals in the match WAS 9/4 NOW 11/4.
Eight of Falkirk’s last nine games have produced three or more goals, as have four of Kilie’s last six.
