Hamilton shouldn’t be deterred in Russian GP despite qualifying

Lewis Hamilton suffered another disappointing qualifying, but if the Chinese Grand Prix is anything to go by he shouldn’t be hurt too much.
The British driver was at the back of the grid for the race in Asia, but was able to finish seventh by the end of proceedings.
Therefore, it’s clear that despite his continued problems at getting himself a good starting place, he is strong enough in overtaking to mean it won’t hurt him too much.
Indeed, backing the 31-year-old to have the fastest lap in the Russian Grand Prix comes in at 6/4, which considering he made up 15 places in China would be a sensible bet.
Furthermore, Hamilton clearly enjoys this track, winning the last two races in Russia and managed to overtake teammate Nico Rosberg to end up on top.
In contrast, Rosberg, who has earned his second pole in three races in Sochi, doesn’t have the best of times on the track.
The German slipped behind his fellow Mercedes man last year, while he was also runner up in 2014.
Therefore, despite his pole position, there are better options than Rosberg to back to win the race on this occasion.
When looking at qualifying, the best driver to back seems to be Sebastian Vettel.
The 28-year-old registered the fastest ever lap on the course last season and will now be further up the grid for this edition of the race.
Vettel has finished second in qualifying this time round and considering that he’s going to be starting in second, he was fourth last time round, it would make sense for him to win.
Backing the German to pip both Hamilton and Rosberg to success is priced at 10/1.
