French Open Day 4: Andy Murray to kick-start his campaign

After two rain-hit days in Paris, the French Open properly got underway yesterday, with plenty of drama and some mega tennis featuring the likes of Andy Murray, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams.
Upsets proved to be few and far between but there’s a few more potential banana skins to be negotiated on day four at Roland Garros as round two gets underway.
Five of the top ten men’s seeds are in action, while Simona Halep and Agnieszka Radwanska lead the women’s charge.
Here’s what to look out for…
Murray to roar back to form
Yesterday marked the eighth time that Andy Murray had come from 2-0 down in a slam match to win 3-2.
Despite having to play for the third straight day, the Scot will have had some stern words with himself last night and that doesn’t bode well for today’s opponent Mathias Bourgue.
Muzza should really get his campaign going today, but on home soil, Frenchman Bourgue could nick a set. Just one though.
Best bet: Murray to win in 3-1 @ 6/1
Improving Diyas can trouble Halep
Romanian Simona Halep may have dispatched first round opponent Nao Hibino 6-0, 6-2, but in truth she has been inconsistent of late.
The 24-year-old suffered early exits in Stuttgart and Rome, losing in the latter to Daria Gavrilova a fortnight ago.
Today’s opponent Zarina Diyas snatched a set off Gavrilova last month, and could be poised to trouble the hit-or-miss Halep.
Best bet: Halep to win 2-1 @ 5/1
Watson has a great chance of causing an upset
Heather Watson faces thirteenth seed Svetlana Kuznetsova in round two, but despite being ranked 41 places below the Russian, the Brit has every chance of victory.
Kuznetsova hasn’t impressed since reaching the Miami final in March, and laboured to victory over world number 89 Yaroslava Shvedova in round one.
Guernsey-born Watson’s last two sets versus Nicole Gibbs showed the form which took her to the Monterrey title earlier this year, and a spot in round three is hers for the taking.
