Fellaini will be first out the door under Mourinho at Man United

Marouane Fellaini will be the first casualty under Jose Mourinho, when, as expected, the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ becomes Manchester United manager in the coming days.

Since it’s been widely accepted that Mourinho will replace the ousted Louis van Gaal, to become United’s third manager in three years, speculation has been rife over not only who the Portuguese will bring to Old Trafford, but also who he’s likely to force out.

So we asked the good people of Twitter who they thought was most likely to fall foul of Jose’s iron fist, would it be Juan Mata, Fellaini, or club legend Ryan Giggs?

The good people spoke and it was Belgium’s controversial midfielder who is seemingly most likely for a swift exit under Mourinho.

Fellaini claimed 43 per cent of today’s vote, with Juan Mata second on 29.

It’s no secret Mourinho is no favourite of the creative Spaniard, citing a lack of work rate and pace among Mata’s flaws.

So having sold him to United while in his second spell at Chelsea just a couple of years ago, it’s well within reason to expect Mata will be placed on the transfer list this summer.

And as for Giggs, he’s most likely to stay according to today’s poll, with 24 per cent of the vote.

With Mourinho known to prefer his own backroom staff however, could all three be out of Old Trafford before next season gets underway?
