FA Cup Final 150/1 to repeat the drama of 1990

Manchester United and Crystal Palace meet under the Wembley arch in this Saturday’s FA Cup Final in a repeat of their 1990 epic, and we’ve gone all out to recapture that magic with a host of special odds.

We’re offering 150/1 on the final score ending 3-3 after extra-time, just like 26 years ago, while it’s 16/1 that two or more goals are scored in the additional 30 minute period.

Other throwback wagers include the 10/1 offered that United will lift the famous old trophy before going on to win the Europa League next season, much like Sir Alex Ferguson did with the FA Cup and Cup Winners’ Cup.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew played in that 1990 clash, and it’s 100/1 he turns up to Wembley wearing his old 1989/1990 kit.

Back then, Palace faced a United side with a manager under the cosh, and it’s 5/2 Louis van Gaal wins the FA Cup and stays on in charge at Old Trafford next season.

It’s 2/1 meanwhile that we see ‘king’ Louis crown himself with the trophy lid, with 4/11 saying he gets his hands on the trophy by any means.

United old boy Wilfried Zaha is 12/1 to score the winner for the south Londoners, with Palace 9/2 underdogs to upset the odds during normal time.

A Ladbrokes spokesperson said: “Anyone who thinks the 2016 final will mirror 1990 in more ways than one will land a handsome payout.

“As it stands, the odds firmly favour history repeating itself in terms of the cup winner, but it remains to be seen if that would be enough to keep Van Gaal in a job.”
