Can 100 Voices sing their way to Britain’s Got Talent success?

Published:

Did last night’s Britain’s Got Talent semi-final unveil the winner of this year’s competition or is the cream of the crop still yet to come?

100 Voices of Gospel certainly wowed the crowds, the judges and the viewing public with their uplifting take on Got My Mind Set of You.

In fact, they were pretty much the only act from the first semi-final to truly sparkle and that’s reflected in their odds of 9/2 to go all the way and earn the right to perform in front of the Queen.

Overall, it was an evening’s entertainment that lacked real star quality and with stronger semi-finals to come the picture could change dramatically between now and Saturday’s climax.

Family duo Mel & Jamie were the other act sent through with a minor shock caused by the elimination of Welsh songstress, Kathleen Jenkins.

The 50/1 shots will have to pull off something pretty special to take this year’s honours though.

Another Kind of Blue nailed-on for a place in the final

It’s not the most enticing bet of the year but backing visual dance act Another Kind of Blue this evening certainly appears to be the smart option.

Here’s a reminder of what made them stand out at the audition stage:

The continental troupe are 4/9 to win tonight’s semi and sail through to the final with cheeky chappie crooner Wayne Woodward next best at 5/1.

Beneath the favourites it’s all up for grabs with former Coronation Street actress Rachel Wooding (5/4 to reach the final), dancers Shannon and Peter (5/1) and sword swallower Alex Magala (5/1) all holding their own credible claims.
