Aberdeen game to start strong end of season for Celtic

Published:

Ronny Deila has only three games left in charge of Celtic, starting with Aberdeen in their next outing.

The Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership winners in all but name regularly finish the season strongly and can expect to carry this tradition against the team that pushed them the furthest for the title.

Indeed, in the last decade the Bhoys have only lost one of their final three matches of the campaign.

That means in 18 outings they have only lost once and that came back in 2012 so it’s been four years since the Glaswegian side have lost any of their trio of matches to end the term.

Furthermore, in that run Celtic have emerged victorious on 14 times and didn’t concede a single goal in that stretch last season, including a 1-0 win over Aberdeen.

Therefore, it makes the most sense to back Deila’s men to win and this is priced at 1/2.

However, they also shouldn’t be expected to be as solid as they were at the conclusion of last season.

This is because, the league-leaders have conceded a goal in all of their last four outings across all competitions and have only kept a clean sheet once in their last six games.

Similarly, the Dons have scored in all but one of their last 14 matches in all competitions, finding the net eight times in their previous four.

Thus, backing Celtic to win and both teams to score at 2/1 is the best option for punters in regards to this encounter.

When looking for someone to make an impact in this clash, it’s hard to look beyond Leigh Griffiths.

The forward has 30 league goals to his name this term and has registered in both of his last two outings.

Additionally, three of his last five strikes have opened the scoring and he can be backed to do again at 14/5.
