WATCH: Dumbarton comeback confirms Ladbrokes Championship safety

Published:

Stephen Aitken’s men secured a crucial win over St Mirren at the Bet Butler Stadium, to secure the Sons’ spot in the Ladbrokes Championship for a third successive season.

Callum Gallagher opened the scoring with a 10th minute strike for the visitors, but the hosts were level before the break after a good counter-attack ended with a cross deflecting in off unfortunate Buddies defender Keith Watson.

A spectacular long-range finish from Garry Fleming on 53 minutes gave Dumbarton the points, and the confirmation of another campaign at this level.

Dumbarton are in action at Easter Road tonight, and the Sons 12/1 to beat Hibernian, with the hosts 2/9.

St Mirren, meanwhile, are 5/1 to bounce back with victory over Rangers in Paisley on Sunday.
