Tottenham boss Pochettino unlikely to make Old Trafford switch

With Jose Mourinho having emerged as a likely candidate for the PSG job, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has been touted by some as the next-in-line for the Manchester United helm.

However, fans of the north London club can rest easy, with the highly-rated Argentine gaffer 1/5 to remain at White Hart Lane this summer.

Man United are the most likely destination if the 44-year-old is to leave the Lilywhites, but a move to the north-west looks unlikely at 5/1.

A switch to fierce rivals Arsenal is a real outside shot, as is a return to Southampton, with both clubs 20/1 to successfully swoop for Pochettino.

With Spurs now just 7/4 – their shortest odds of the season – to win the Premier League, and Champions League football almost a certainty for the next campaign, a move to the struggling Red Devils may no longer be seen as a ‘step up’ for the ex-Espanyol boss.

Add to that the possibility that Jose Mourinho may still take over the reins at Old Trafford, the current situation will allow Tottenham fans to sleep easy over the fate of their sought-after gaffer.

The Lilywhites are next in action on Monday night, with 2/9 the odds for a home victory over West Brom at the Lane. Spurs are in imperious form right now whereas Albion have just one win from their last 11 Premier League games on the road, meaning this looks like the definition of a ‘home banker’.
