Swap deal gives Chelsea edge over Man Utd in hunt for PSG man

The story leading the way in the gossip columns this morning is that Manchester United and Chelsea would need to offer up a swap deal to get Marquinhos away from Paris Saint-Germain.
Considering that the Brazilian defender is viewed as one of the most promising young players on the planet, it’s understandable that his club want to get the best offer they can for the £40m-rated defender.
Furthermore, when you weigh up the possibility of a swap it is clear that the Blues have more bargaining tools at their disposal than their Premier League counterparts.
PSG have been rumoured to be interested in Oscar and Eden Hazard in the pass, while Wayne Rooney is also believed to be on their radar.
The fact that Chelsea have two players they can tempt the Ligue 1 champions with obviously puts them at an advantage, especially as they also have age on their side.
Rooney is 30, while Hazard is 25 and Oscar is 24, meaning they still have their best football to play, but the Man Utd man seemingly has his best years behind him.
The England captain hasn’t scored over 20 goals in a season since the 2011/12 campaign and has only found the net seven times in 22 Premier League appearances this term.
When looking at which of their stars Chelsea should offer up to PSG, it’s obvious that they should put Hazard on the trading block.
Last year’s PFA Player of the Year hasn’t scored a single Premier League goal this season and his poor form has coincided with the champions sitting tenth in the league and clearly the two parties don’t fit anymore.
However, his reputation in world football means he still commands a lot of attention and offering him up should be enough to organise a swap for Marquinhos.
