Support for Donald dwindles as punters dump Trump

Donald Trump’s Presidential campaign has taken its first major hit across the weekend, with odds slashed on rival Ted Cruz claiming the Republican nominee.
Billionaire Trump had been as short as 1/4 to run for the White House later this year, but as he continues to court controversy across the pond, it appears the real estate mogul may have gone too far.
Trump has drifted to 8/11 over the weekend to claim the GOP’s nomination, with money pouring in for Texan Senator Ted Cruz.
Ahead of Tuesday’s vote in Wisconsin, Cruz is 5/2 to claim his party’s backing, in from 8/1 this time last month.
With many contenders having fallen by the wayside, John Kasich remains the only other man in this three-horse race at 6/1.
David Williams of Ladbrokes said: “Cruz is having his best run for some time. Support for Trump has gone missing. He’s beginning to wobble.”
After struggling to regain control following a backlash to his comments in the press last week, Trump’s odds could take another pounding before the week is out, with Cruz well fancied to claim victory in Wisconsin.
Could defeat for the former US Apprentice host this week spell the beginning of the end for his Presidential campaign?
