Super League: Catalans Dragons primed to see off Hull KR
Catalans Dragons are odds-on to beat Hull KR tonight and continue in their quest to prove themselves as genuine contenders for Super League glory.
The Dragons (1/2 for the win) welcomed some big-name arrivals in the off-season as they aim to improve on last season’s seventh-placed finish, and it looks to have done the trick as they’ve won six of their nine games, sitting just four points behind leaders Warrington.
Their opponents tonight, Hull KR (7/4 to win), have not fared quite as well this season. Having parted company with Chris Chester – bringing in James Webster as interim head coach – they have recorded just two wins from 10 attempts, however one of those came last week away at reigning champions Leeds.
Before that they came close to shocking Wigan on their own turf, and Rovers will need to be right at the top of their game to defeat a Dragons line-up littered with stars.
One of those aforementioned big-name signings for Catalans is Dave Taylor, who has taken Super League by storm, crashing over for five tries in Dragons colours. He can be backed at 15/8 to do so again tonight.
If Catalans are to be considered title contenders, they will have to improve on their 2015 away showings, when they won just twice on the road all year.
They have already eclipsed that figure within four away games this season, and possess all the qualities to see off Rovers by 15+ points tonight (5/2).
The Dragons have scored the fourth most tries in Super League this season and their free-flowing, expansive game makes for plenty of chances for their wide men. Wingers Pat Richards and Jodie Broughton should have opportunities tonight and are 7/2 to both score in the Ladbrokes Enhanced Anytime Tryscorer Double.
