Red Devils lead the race for highly-rated Hull man

Published:

Hull City left-back Andy Robertson may be set to leave the Championship club this summer, with numerous sources including Metro and the Sun reporting that Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal is keen to acquire the Scotland international.

A combination of Luke Shaw’s injury problems and the lack of an experienced left-back elsewhere in the squad have left United struggling in this area of the pitch, and the skilful and composed Robertson is 7/2 to leave the KC Stadium for Old Trafford.

Arsenal are another side reportedly interested in the ex-Dundee United man. Arsene Wenger is believed to be seeking a young understudy to Nacho Monreal, and it’s 5/1 that the 22-year-old Glasgow native joins the Gunners this summer.

But if the big guns don’t swoop for the Hull City man, West Brom are the next most likely destination, at 8/1 to add Robertson to their roster.

The chance to play club football alongside international teammates Darren Fletcher and James Morrison may well appeal to the one-time Queen’s Park defender.

Robertson’s current club Hull City are 13/8 to win promotion, and whether or not the Tigers can claw their way out of the Championship is likely to be a huge factor in determining if the young Scot begins next season wearing black and amber or red and white.
