Record against top teams will see West Ham beat Leicester

Leicester City need three more wins to guarantee the Premier League title, but they shouldn’t expect to get one of them against West Ham.

The Hammers are the best team in the division when it comes to facing teams in the top-third of the table.

In ten games against sides in the upper echelons of the top-flight, Slaven Bilic’s men have won five, drawn three and only lost two.

Manchester United have the same record, but West Ham’s superior goal difference marks them out as the toughest team to face for those in the top-third.

Furthermore, the east Londoners have kept five clean sheets against these sides and considering Leicester have only scored more than one in a match on only one occasion in their last five outings, the Hammers should have enough to shut them out.

Backing Winston Reid and company to keep the Foxes at bay and emerge victorious comes in at 6/1 and would make sense given their form.

The change of West Ham getting the win is further increased when you look at how Claudio Ranieri’s men fare in keeping the ball.

Leicester have had less possession than their opponents in four out of their last five matches, including against troubled Newcastle United.

A team with the creative quality of Dimitri Payet is likely to be far less forgiving when they are given more time on the ball.

The French midfielder has provided eight assists in the league this season and can really change the course of a game when given the time to do so.

Furthermore, three of West Ham’s last four wins across all competitions have come when they have had the greater share of possession.
