Odds slashed on Tottenham boss making shock return to PSG

Published:

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has impressed this season, with his Spurs side second in the Premier League and renowned for their swashbuckling style.

And the odds of the highly-rated Argentine exiting White Hart Lane for one of his former clubs have tumbled following a flurry of bets, and his remarks that this move would be a “part of [his] dreams”.

The team in question are Paris Saint-Germain, and with their current boss Laurent Blanc also being linked with an exit, Pochettino’s odds have fallen from 20/1 to 8/1 to take the Parc des Princes hotseat.

Manchester United remain narrow favourites to secure his signature at 7/1, but if Louis van Gaal can secure his own place at Old Trafford, the odds of Pochettino heading to PSG could be significantly cut again.

Any talk that the 44-year-old would head back to the dugout at Southampton or Espanyol seems to have little weight though, with both Saints and the Periquitos 50s to secure his homecoming.

Everton round out the betting at 100/1, with a switch to Merseyside seemingly the last thing on the Lilywhites’ gaffer’s mind.

Spurs are next in action on Monday night, as they try to secure a first win at Stamford Bridge since 1990. Chelsea are 9/5 to win, with in-form Spurs 7/5 for victory and a draw at 23/10.
