Mid-table beckons for Rangers, according to poll

Published:

Rangers may have been crowned champions of the second tier but a title tilt in the Ladbrokes Premiership will have to wait.

That is according the latest Ladbrokes poll, which showed that more people think Mark Warburton’s side are destined for a mid-table finish next season than anything better- or worse.

After Rangers secured promotion to the top flight thanks to last night’s 1-0 win over Dumbarton we asked the Twitter masses what’s in store for next season and the most popular response was a mid-table finish with 39 per cent.

However, more than half of those who responded believe the Ibrox side can run the likes of Celtic and Aberdeen close, with 22 per cent believing the Gers can win the title and 29 per cent foreseeing a second-place finish.

Just 10 per cent believe relegation back down to the Ladbrokes Championship is in Rangers’ future and after Hearts’ efforts in their first season back in the big time it’s easy to see why.
