Man City v Stoke: Sky Blues to continue smashing Potters

Published:

Stoke City travel to the Etihad for this weekend’s early kick-off and after conceding four goals in each of their last two games the omens do not look good for Mark Hughes’ side.

The Potters go into the game as 9/1 outsiders, with a draw on at 17/4 and a home win priced up at 3/10.

However, with Stoke idling towards the end of the campaign – safety assured and Europe beyond them – City still have to maintain the gap between themselves and the other sides aiming for the top four.

This should make a win a formality for the Sky Blues and while many will be tempted to go big on the odds-on home with, there could be better value elsewhere.

Sergio Aguero, for instance, is back in stunning from in front of goal – with six goals in his last four league outings – and can be backed at 8/13 to strike at anytime on Saturday.

Better odds of 5/2 can be had on the Argentine opening the scoring and with the Citizens’ hotshot obliging in that market nine times this season that could prove the bet of the day.

With these stats in mind we’ve added another huge Price Boost to the market selections with Aguero scoring in a City win enhanced from 5/6 to 11/10.

Another tempting pick, given the visitors recent penchant for shipping four goals, is the 16/5 that says Manuel Pellegrini’s men can net over 3.5 goals in front of their own fans.

Having seen his side thrashed in recent times however, Hughes is sure to demand an improved performance from his side and this could mean a return to scoring form for Marko Arnautovic.

The Austrian is the Potters’ top scorer this season with 10 goals and looks the visitors’ biggest threat to score anytime at 19/5.

Sixty per cent of the 27-year-old’s strikes have come first in games though so the 12/1 on him breaking the deadlock could also appeal – just expect City to hit back in emphatic style if he does.
