Ladbrokes SPFL: Raith Rovers to build on play-off spot success

Published:

Rangers secured promotion to the Ladbrokes Premiership with a midweek win over Dumbarton while Raith Rovers have the chance to join the ‘Gers there, after securing their spot in the Championship play-offs.

In League 2, meanwhile, East Fife stole a march on their fellow promotion candidates last time out with a 1-0 win at Arbroath on a weekend when every other game in the division ended in a draw.

Here’s your preview of an intriguing weekend of games…

Ladbrokes Championship

Having been awarded Ladbrokes Championship Manager of the Month for March, Raith boss Ray McKinnon saw his in-form side secure a play-off spot in midweek. The Kirkcaldy club are 19/10 to build on that achievement with a win at Queen of the South this weekend.

Hibernian are looking to avoid a play-off spot by snatching second from Falkirk, and Hibs are 2/11 to win against Alloa for the seventh clash in succession.

Peter Houston’s Bairns look to protect their league position with a home win against St. Mirren priced at 8/13. Livingston, meanwhile, have the chance to climb out of the relegation play-off spot with a win at Morton – with the Lions 12/5 to win in Greenock.

Ladbrokes League 1

Champions Dunfermline are 4/11 to notch up a 12th home league win of the season against Forfar, though the Loons are recently improved and the best value may lie with a victory for the visitors at 7/1.

Cowdenbeath host Brechin on the back of successive wins, and Colin Nish’s men are looking for a fourth consecutive home win against the Glebe Park club at 7/5.

Albion Rovers look to keep their play-off dream alive as they visit Ayr United, with a victory for the Wee Rovers long odds at 17/4. Airdrieonians face Stenhousemuir, with both sides looking to secure their League 1 status. The Diamonds are 10/11 to win with Stenny 13/5.

Ladbrokes League 2

There’s a full program in League 2 this weekend, with the tightest league table in years keeping the excitement high across the board.

Leaders East Fife are 4/11 to beat Montrose in Methil. The Fifers are the division’s top goalscorers and Montrose the highest scorers in League 2’s bottom half. We’re offering 13/2 for there to be over 5.5 goals in this one.

Second-placed Clyde look to reignite their title ambitions with a win against improving Berwick Rangers at 13/10.

Elsewhere, Queen’s Park are 13/20 to beat bottom club East Stirling, promotion hopefuls Annan are a 21/20 shot to take three points against Arbroath and Elgin are 7/4 to win at Stirling Albion, with the men from Forthbank priced at 7/5.
