Ladbrokes SPFL: Hibs to end four-game losing streak at St Mirren

Published:

Last weekend provided drama in abundance across the Ladbrokes SPFL, with a barrage of goals, surprise results and the incredible feat of a promotion in March.

Rangers edged out Queen of the South 4-3 at Ibrox, Dunfermline became the first senior team in Britain to clinch promotion as they beat Brechin City 3-1 in League 1 and Arbroath’s shock win at Clyde shook up the title race in League 2.

Here’s your preview of another exciting weekend…

Ladbrokes Championship

After four straight league defeats and a heartbreaking defeat in the Scottish League Cup final, Hibernian will be desperate to reignite their season and steal second spot back from Falkirk.

Hibs are 4/7 to get back to winning ways on their visit to St Mirren who have won only four home league games this season.

Dumbarton look to free themselves from the relegation battle on the back of 7 points in their last 5 games. They host a Morton side with the very slimmest of play-off hopes, with the Sons 13/5 to win, while the Greenock club are Evens.

The bottom two face off at the Tony Macaroni Arena, with Livingston 1/2 to defeat an Alloa side who won 1-0 on their last visit to Livi but are 13 points adrift of this weekend’s opponents.

On-form Raith Rovers host Rangers, with the Kirkcaldy club 13/2 to win and the ‘Gers a 4/11 shot to notch up another away victory.

Ladbrokes League 1

With swashbuckling Dunfermline now champions of League 1, will they continue their incredible run of form or take their eye off the ball? Albion Rovers haven’t tasted victory since late-February but may prove popular for a win at 11/2, in these circumstances.

Cowdenbeath host Ayr United on the back of last week’s invaluable win at Balmoor, and are 23/10 to beat the Honest Men.

Struggling Forfar are 5/2 to beat Peterhead, with bottom club Brechin City Evens to beat a Stenhousemuir side with just one win in five.

There’s also a huge playoff clash at Stair Park as Airdrieonians visit Stranraer. The hosts are 17/20 to win, with the Diamonds likely to prove popular at 3/1.

Ladbrokes League 2

Barry Ferguson’s Clyde were stunned at home last week by an Arbroath comeback, and host Montrose on Saturday. Clyde are 10/21 to take all three points, but could lightning strike twice, with Montrose 20/1 to come from behind and win?

East Stirling have plummeted into the relegation playoff spot following six home defeats in succession. They’re 11/4 to finally discover their winning ways against Berwick Rangers.

Annan Athletic are the division’s highest scorers and head to an out-of-sorts Elgin City on Saturday. The borders club are 12/5 to win, with Elgin Evens for a first success in four games.

Queens Park boast the league’s meanest defence as they welcome an inconsistent Stirling Albion to Hampden Park. The Glasgow club are 4/5 to win, with a 0-0 draw likely to attract interest at 17/2.

Elsewhere, leaders East Fife boast goalscoring sensation Nathan Austin, and may well prove too strong for a workmanlike Arbroath side, with the Fifers 11/10 to win.
