Is Barcelona ace set for Crystal Palace move?

Alex Song has featured sporadically on loan at West Ham this season, and having failed to fulfil last season’s promise the player looks set to switch the Hammers for Crystal Palace during the summer window.

The Cameroon international has played 65 times for parent club Barca since his 2012 move, but has fallen out of favour at the Nou Camp and the Catalans are reportedly willing to listen to offers, with the Eagles hot favourites to claim his signature.

Palace are 7/4 to snap up the 28-year-old this summer, with 7/1 for the midfielder to return to the Hammers at their new Olympic Stadium home.

It’s 9/2 that Everton add the robust Song to their struggling squad, while Swansea are 7/1 to dip into their warchest to prise the man valued at £7.5m by Transfermarkt away from La Liga.

A move to ambitious Middlesbrough is also a possibility, and if Aitor Karanka can secure Premier League football at the Riverside then the odds of 8/1 for Song switching to Teesside could tumble.

Former clubs Arsenal (10/1) and Bastia (16/1) look unlikely to chase their former midfield maestro, though the former Gunners man could well be stepping out at the Emirates in the colours of Alan Pardew’s Eagles next summer.

In the short-term, Palace’s focus will be on Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Watford, with the Selhurst Park club 6/4 to win in 90-minutes and 8/11 to reach the final.

If the Eagles can go on and lift the historic trophy then the odds of Pardew luring Song from Spain to south London could be cut further.
