Fantasy Football: Huge week looms with mega double bumper

Published:

What a week it’s shaping up to be for Fantasy Football managers all over as the Premier League heads into a six-day run of action. Expect some major changes in the Ladbrokes Life League!

Starting Saturday, there’s Premier League football every day up to and including Arsenal versus West Brom on Thursday, meaning points galore.

That means a host of big teams – including Arsenal, Liverpool and both Manchester clubs – are playing twice in one game week, posing huge dilemmas for Fantasy gaffers.

With it all to play for across the next few days, here’s what the Ladbrokes Life gang are going for…

#MrBrightside

The team are still going strong and we’re right into the business end of the season.

The Gut Truster is bang in-form and after over-taking Generous John has real momentum, so we have to treat each of the last five game-weeks as cup-finals.

Kasper Schmeichel came in and hasn’t conceded since joining Mr Brightside’s team. We wish his Leicester side all the luck in the title race which will hopefully mean more clean sheets for us.

Toby Alderweireld has been massive for us all season with Spurs conceding the fewest goals and his extra four strikes and three assists have been pivital to our success. He’s partnered with the flying Cresswell and Bellerin who have also been great this term.

The midfield is made up of three PFA player/young player of the year nominations which is an indication of why we are where we are.

I’m hoping Roberto Firmino can find his form again and Mesut Ozil could be looking to break Thierry Henry’s assist record with Palace and the Baggies traveling to the Emirates in this game week.

Lukaku couldn’t do the business this week and is carrying a slight knock so the young Martial will come in. He has three in his last three at Old Trafford and will face Villa and Palace in Manchester so will captain the side. Aguero and Kane will also be expected to do what they do best.

#GutTruster

Well, well, well.

A smashing week from my team has put me not only clear of The Professor, but above Generous John and into second place – and it could have been even better for me had I have put the Captain/Vice Captain round the other way!

This week plenty of my current squad have double fixtures, so I’m hoping to utilise this once again to keep some momentum and challenge for top spot. So…BENCH BOOST!

I’ve got two free transfers at my disposal, so I’ve brought in the solid Bellerin as the Gunners have two home games, and transferred out the doubtful Arnautovic and have gone for Antonio as his replacement.

The former Forest man tormented the Watford defence last season at the City Ground, so look out for his name on the scoresheet on Wednesday…

#TheProfessor

This might just be Statletico’s worst week yet.

Unless I can pull off an outstanding recovery this week, scraping third place will be out of the question. After a run of poor performances, I’m finally ready to drop Lukaku from my team.

The Belgian hasn’t scored since the beginning of March and didn’t really make an impact against some considerably weaker teams so it’s time for him to make way for another forward.

In comes Anthony Martial who grabbed the winner against Everton and has looked sharp in his last few fixtures.

I’m gambling again this week and playing my ALL OUT ATTACK boost which should pay off thanks to a few midfielders with double fixtures.

Aldeweireld is straight back into the team alongside Bellerin who had a tough time at Upton Park but was excellent against Watford and Everton. Martial has relatively easy fixtures against Villa and Palace so he dons the captain’s armband.

#GenerousJohn

Just when you think it can’t get any worse it does! I’ve been overtaken by the Gut Truster and now find myself third amongst the other guys.

The biggest disappointment was leaving Alderweireld on the bench. The Belgian capped off a brilliant goal with a clean sheet for Spurs and resulted in 15 points going to waste.

I wont be making any transfer this week but I do have 6 players in the starting XI involved in this double-game week,so let’s hope for a big week of points.

With Ozil, Mahrez, Alli, Payet and Lanzini all lining up in my midfield I’m hoping for something special.

City have two games this week so it’s a no-brainer for Aguero to wear the armband and it’s about time I used my triple captain. If I’m to climb back up the table I need the Argentine to deliver this weekend, no pressure Sergio!

#TheBeliever

All I’m playing for now is pride!

My bid to win it all never really got started and now it’s all about picking up some extra points to try and hide the embarrassment of the wooden spoon.

Double fixtures for Aguero means he picks up the captains armband and I use the Triple Captain that I should have used weeks ago.

Alli, Ozil, Lingard and Monreal all have double fixtures as well which could mean that point are on the horizon but only if the Gunners start performing again.
