Everybody wants him, but just where will N’Golo Kante go?

Published:

He could be the most in-demand player of the summer, and if reports in the press are to be believed, N’Golo Kante is set to play for pretty much every major European team next season.

Leicester snapped up the Frenchman from Caen last season for a bargain £5.6m, and the 25-year-old has more than paid back his fee with a season of sterling performances for the Foxes.

The tireless workman of Claudio Ranieri’s Premier League heroes, Kante’s performances this term have drawn deserved admiration from the biggest names in Europe.

Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus appear to be near the top of the order in the race to grab Kante’s signature, with Leicester themselves becoming increasingly resigned to losing their star man.

United could be hamstrung however as the Old Trafford club are yet to decide on their manager next season, while Juventus’ move looks set to depend on the destination of Kante’s fellow Frenchman Paul Pogba.

However the Red Devils have murmured to offer Andreas Pereira in an attempt to sweeten the deal, with Granit Xhaka may only sign for Arsenal if the north Londoners fail in the Kante bid.

It’s believed the Foxes will only allow Kante to leave once they’ve lined up a replacement.

And the man most likely to fill that void is Southampton’s Victor Wanyama.

First and foremost however, Leicester can win the Premier League title this weekend and Manchester United.

The Foxes are 13/5 for a win which would clinch the title, with Louis van Gaal’s men evens to put a stopper on the celebrations. Temporarily at least.

But what can be said with some certainty however, is that Kante is absolutely in-demand this summer.

It’s a story that’s set to run and run, just like the man himself.
