Could Zlatan be set to snub Man United for Arsenal?

Published:

It’s one of the looming questions of this summer’s transfer window; just where will Zlatan Ibrahimovic be playing his football next season?

Manchester United had long been the most likely answer, with the Old Trafford club linked with a move to bring the Paris Saint-Germain star to British shores for months.

However it’s Arsenal who this week are being linked with a move for the striker, with Arsene Wenger reportedly prepared to offer the 34-year-old a two-year-deal for a princely £250k a week.

Olivier Giroud has really gone off the boil in recent months, and Wenger is under pressure to make major improvements to his Arsenal team in the off-season, so a move for Ibrahimovic may not be as outlandish as it initially seems.

Despite his age, the Sweden skipper is arguably in the form of his life, and he’s made no bones about carrying on once his contract in Paris winds down.

Whether or not Zlatan still holds a grudge against Wenger and the Gooners over a disputed trial many moons ago remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a move for Arsenal fans to start pondering.

A move to China isn’t out of the question either for Ibrahimovic, with plenty of reports stating astronomical wage demands are making Man United think twice about offering a deal.

Zlatan is certainly less likely to join the red half of north London if they can’t offer him Champions League football, but the Gunners can go one big step closer to securing that top-four spot this weekend.

Arsenal are 1/4 to beat Norwich this weekend, with the Canaries 11/1 to cause an upset.
