Arsenal looking to snap up Inter’s impressive midfielder

Looking to rebuild his midfield this summer, Arsene Wenger is set to be a busy man in the transfer market, and one such target is Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic.

The Croatian has impressed during an 18-month loan spell in Turin from Dynamo Zagreb,  and though I Nerazzurri are keen to extend the 23-year-old’s stay, an asking price of £16m may rule the Italian side out.

That figure is unlikely to concern Wenger though, who must rebuild having seen his side throw away a Premier League challenge this season.

With Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky all set to depart at the end of the season, plus continued speculation over the future of Jack Wilshere and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Arsenal are set to bring in a host of new faces.

A classy and traditional central midfielder, Brozovic would slot straight into the void left by the Arteta/Flamini/Rosicky trio, lining up alongside Francis Coquelin or Mohamed Elneny in the middle.

With Granit Xhaka seemingly homing in on becoming an Arsenal player next term too, it appears Wenger is trying to get a few new signings done and dusted before the end of the campaign.

But starting tonight against West Brom, the Gunners have five matches left to try and end the season on some sort of positive, with a top-four spot not yet secured.

Arsenal are 2/7 for three points, while the Baggies are 12/1 for a win which would produce yet more evidence that the red half of north London needs a big summer clear out.
