Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Spurs on ‘Green’ alert over teenager

If Aston Villa are to bounce back in more successful fashion than Alan Partridge next season, then keeping hold of their most promising academy players seems paramount. That now looks set to be a tricky task.

Various media sources are reporting that 17-year-old winger Andre Green has made an impression on some of the Premier League’s leading lights and could well be the subject of offers this summer.

Having been afforded two 30-minute league cameos for the rock-bottom Villans during March, Green’s burgeoning reputation has supposedly sparked serious interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City and Tottenham.

Such a glamorous roll call of suitors serves notice of the bubbling potential the England U17 possesses.

Seen as one of the Villa Academy’s brightest prospects, the jet-heeled attacker is known for his direct running and ability to beat at opponent.

Given the club’s current predicament, Villa are sure to be more loathed than ever to lose one of their own with a season in the second tier on the cards for the first time since the birth of the Premier League.

However, the financial blow set to accompany the Birmingham club’s sharp fall from grace, means Villa’s hand may well be forced if a bidding war commences.

None of the clubs mentioned above have much trouble with spending the millions, so it could be that Green is lured a way for the correct price.
