Argentina legend urges Napoli to replace Higuain with Kane

Only three players in Europe’s top five leagues have scored more goals than Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain this season.
The Argentine’s 30 Serie A strikes is apparently not enough to convince a fellow Albiceleste icon that he should remain at Stadio San Paolo however.
Diego Maradona, who won two Italian titles with the Partenopei during a seven-season stay, believes his former side will capitalise on his countryman’s stellar campaign by selling him this summer. And the 1986 World Cup winner already has a replacement lined up.
“You can build a great team with the money made from a big sale. You need to see new faces on the field and this can happen if they sell Higuain for a high price,” the 55-year-old is quoted as saying in Spanish newspaper Marca.
“It’s not easy to replace Higuain, but if it were up to me I would choose Harry Kane from Tottenham. I don’t know how much he would cost, but I would sign him up without hesitation,” the former forward continued.
Like Higuain, Kane has enjoyed phenomenal success this season. He currently leads the Premier League’s scoring charts with 24 strikes and recently finished as runner up to Riyad Mahrez in the Player of the Year award.
A second consecutive campaign of heavy scoring has propelled the London native into the wider footballing consciousness, with greats of the game like Maradona now taking note of his performances.
Kane’s form has already attracted reported interest from Manchester United, but it seems Tottenham will have to put up with rumours emerging from the rest of Europe now too.
The England international is certain to play a major part in his country’s Euro 2016 campaign and a strong showing in France will only heighten the attention on him.
