Tight contest in store as Swansea head to Bournemouth

Holding a nine-point gap to the drop zone with just nine games to play, Swansea fans can almost start planning next season’s Premier League adventures, almost.

The Liberty Stadium outfit have lost just two of their last eight league ties, and the trip to Bournemouth this weekend represents a strong chance to make that nine.

Just two points separate the sides ahead of the clash at Dean Court, and after each dicing with the drop at certain points throughout the season, both clubs are nearly safe.

The Cherries are 10/11 favourites to win the match, while the visitors are a 16/5 shot, but many of the signs point to a draw on the south coast at 21/10.

The Welsh club have lost just two of their last six away fixtures, and have only been beaten by more than one goal once on their travels this term.

November’s tie in west Wales ended in a 2-2 draw, and another score draw with both teams to score is 15/4 and we can expect an even contest this weekend with both Swansea and their hosts in very similar positions.

After this weekend’s fixture, both sides face many top-half teams in their remaining fixtures.

Aston Villa also await Swansea and the Cherries, but what it comes down to is both Francesco Guidolin and Eddie Howe will have earmarked this tie with a red circle to bag some points.

Doing so would all but secure either side their place in next season’s Premier League, but with the Welsh side proving so hard to beat on the road, a draw wouldn’t be a surprise come 5pm on Saturday.
