Surprises everywhere as favourites cast aside at Cheltenham

Published:

The second day at the Cheltenham Festival offered up some cracking racing, but according to today’s poll most of you couldn’t call the winners.

Today we asked our Twitter followers which favourite was the biggest banker on day two, and it turned out very few spotted the upsets.

A whopping 50 per cent of you fancied Un De Sceaux to be the biggest banker of the day, so we can imagine quite a few choice words were said when Sprinter Sacre rolled back the years with a sublime run to regain his Champion Chase crown.

Some 35 per cent of you fancied Yanworth to come good in the opener, but Yorkhill had other ideas, while More Of That disappointed the 11 of you after being beaten into third by winner Blaklion and Shaneshill in the RSA Chase.

A savvy four per cent of you went for ‘other’ saying none of those would prove true, perhaps fancying Sprinter Sacre to come home at 5/1.

It’s been a belting couple of day’s racing, and the best news is there’s still two more days to come!
