Steven Doris named Ladbrokes League 2 Player of the Month

Stirling Albion striker Steven Doris has been named the Ladbrokes League 2 Player of the Month for February, after a trio of goals for his side.

Albion had a busy month, claiming two wins, two draws and suffering two defeats through February to maintain their place in mid-table.

It was a good month for Doris too, who netted three times, the highlight being a brace in Albion’s 7-0 hammering of Montrose.

A further strike in the 2-1 loss to Clyde took the 27-year-old’s tally to 11 for the season.

Doris is now just one goal shy of doubling last season’s total, while Albion’s results in February have all but ended any chances the Binos bring dragged into a relegation scrap.

Indeed, the Forthbank outfit are just five points off a top-four place although their next attempt to make up ground on the league leaders is a pretty tough one.

Doris and co. host table-topping East Fife this weekend with Albion 7/4 outsiders for victory.

The Fifers are 6/5 to take all three points while the draw is priced at 27/10.

However, should Doris maintain his recent form then Albion will look a very shrewd bet this weekend.
