Social media reaction to England’s Six Nations Grand Slam

Published:

England claimed their first Six Nations Grand Slam since 2003 by defeating France 31-21 in Paris, handing new coach Eddie Jones immediate success at the helm.

This was a some turnaround for a team that became the first World Cup hosts to be knocked out at the group stage under Stuart Lancaster six months ago.

The feat was roundly celebrated at the final whistle, both on the pitch and online.

Here’s the best of the reaction from Twitter as Dylan Hartley lifted the Six Nations trophy:

The moment the final whistle blew, as filmed by the England social media team

Paul Hayward praised the side for their domination of their closest rivals

Will Greenwood gave an insight into the strategy that helped England win it all

Then told the team to paint the town red

Sports stars from across the country heaped praise on Hartley’s men

While England’s own Twitter account was quick to get the celebrations underway

Dylan Hartley woke up with something new in his bed
