Manchester City set for goal bonanza against Norwich

Published:

When Norwich City lost 3-0 to Manchester City in the FA Cup, it came on the back of two consecutive wins and the Canaries could be forgiven for not getting too worried about the defeat.

However, since then Alex Neil’s side have lost eight of their last nine Premier League games and are now in the relegation zone.

The East Anglian outfit are one point away from seventeenth-place Sunderland and safety, but another game against the Citizens won’t allow them to close the gap.

Man City head to Carrow Road after trouncing rock-bottom Aston Villa 4-0 and have clearly found their scoring boots.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men have a stellar record against the Canaries and this should help them to further enhance their goal difference.

In the last eight meetings between the pair, City have found the net 29 times, only three away from an average of four goals a game.

Therefore, for punters looking to profit from this match, it would be wise to invest in over 3.5 goals at 7/4.

The biggest rout came two seasons ago when Norwich were sent packing from the Etihad Stadium after falling victim to a 7-0 defeat.

Bradley Johnson and Russell Martin both scored own goals on that day, while David Silva, Yaya Toure and Serio Aguero also got their name on the scoresheet.

Aguero has particularly flourished in this fixture and is a big part of City managing to score with ease against Norwich.

The Argentine has registered six strikes in his last eight encounters with the Canaries and Neil will need to be wary of the skilfull striker in order to avoid a similar fate.

Backing the 27-year-old to open the scoring, something he has done twice before in this fixture including their last meeting, is priced at 11/4 and makes plenty of sense.
