Livingston boss is happy to grind out the results

It won’t go down as a classic encounter, but Livingston’s 0-0 draw with Morton this week was the latest indicator that David Hopkin’s side are prepared to fight hard for any point which comes their way.
The stalemate meant Livi moved eight points clear of Ladbrokes Championship bottom side Alloa having played a game more.
The Tony Macaroni Arena has also seen it’s hosts unbeaten in three home games and in fact Hopkin’s side have lost just two of their last eight at home in a run stretching back to October.
Livi’s odds of finishing bottom have reflected the recent run too, with their chances of finishing bottom shifting from 4/1 to 8/1 in recent weeks.
Hopkin said: “Now we’ve got a team that believes in themselves and that’s us three home games unbeaten so even though we’ve got some nice, skilful players, we can work the other side of it and grind out results.”
The former Leeds and Crystal Palace midfielder added: “I’m delighted to have got four points from the last two games – but we need to keep moving forward and improving.”
Next up for Livi in their bid to avoid the drop is a home tie with Dumbarton this Saturday.
The visiting Sons will be on a high having beaten Hibernian last time out, but Steve Aitken’s men haven’t travelled well.
A 2-0 win at still-winless-at-home Alloa has been the only three-point success for Dumbarton since September, and Livingston go into the game at 5/4.
Dumbarton are 37/20 while a draw is 12/5, and even it gets a bit scrappy, it seems Livingston and their manager won’t mind that at all.
