Ladbrokes SPFL: Rangers to roar back after Falkirk defeat

It may be a busy weekend on the international front, but it’s also another hectic one for the Ladbrokes SPFL, with 14 fixtures to get stuck into.

Rangers will be desperate to make up for last Friday’s shock loss at Falkirk, while in League 1 Brechin’s fine run of victories could come to an end as they head to table-topping Dunfermline.

And in League 2 just three points separate the leading three teams in a division which has proved ultra-competitive all season.

Here’s your weekend preview…

Ladbrokes Championship

After seeing Falkirk come from 2-0 down to win 3-2 in the final quarter of an hour last time out, Rangers will be out to get back to winning ways.

Mark Warburton’s Gers should be capable of doing so, when they host a Queen of the South side beaten nine times already on the road this season.

After a mini-revival, Livingston will need to be at their best when they head to Falkirk. Only Rangers and Hibernian have beaten the Bairns this term, who are 2/5 for victory.

Alloa are 21/5 to finally claim a first home win of the season against St Mirren, while Morton (13/10) have won two on the spin but come up against a Raith side unbeaten in five.

Ladbrokes League 1

Unless they cause a huge surprise at 8/1, Brechin’s four-game winning run is likely to end when they head to league leaders Dunfermline.

The Pars are 1/4 for victory, as are second place Peterhead at home to Cowdenbeath.

Stranraer have won three and drawn one of their last four, and are 14/5 to win at an Ayr side which has lost its last two games.

Unbeaten in three, Forfar could go level with their hosts Stenhousemuir this weekend, if they can claim the three points at 9/5.

Finally, with neither side winning their last three, a draw looks on at 13/5 between mid-table pair Airdrie and Albion.

Ladbrokes League 2

Clyde moved to second in midweek with a 2-1 win at home to Annan with what was their fourth-successive victory.

Barry Ferguson’s men are 8/15 to beat an Arbroath side which has claimed only five points from the last 27 available.

League leaders East Fife are 3/4 to win a fourth-straight match at home to Queen’s Park, while third place Elgin will need to improve their away record when they head across the border to Berwick.

Montrose are 5/4 to win at home to 8/5 shots Annan, and while the international break may direct some attention away from domestic duties this weekend, that certainly won’t be the case in Stirling where it’s derby weekend.

Hosts Stirling are 1/2 for victory, with East Stirling available at 21/5 having lost their last four.
